Gregory W. Marcum, PE JD
Managing Attorney

Gregory W. Marcum is a Registered Patent Attorney. His practice includes Civil Litigation (personal injury, product liability), Intellectual Property, and Construction.
Mr. Marcum is admitted to practice law in all state courts in Texas, the U.S. Federal Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and the associated Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

This firm operates under the philosophy of using innovative legal thinking and every technological advantage that can be brought to bear for our clients to achieve their goals in the most effective way possible. Raphael Qiu, JD
Associate

Raphael Qiu handles business law and international business matters for Marcum PC. He is experienced in contract drafting, negotiations, mediation, and civil litigation. While working for in house counsel, Raphael has helped to negotiate international trade deals and licensing agreements with Chinese companies.
Mr.Qiu is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Asian American Bar Association. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and conversationally proficient in French.

Our firm seeks to handle international cases by bridging cultural, business, and legal gaps for our clients in order to effectively and efficiently meet their desires. The importance of international law was succinctly summarized by J. William Fulbright: "It provides us with stability and order and with a means of predicting the behavior of those with whom we have reciprocal legal obligations."

John W. Ford, Jr., JD
Associate

John W. Ford, Jr.’s studies in economics and business combined with his multitude of experiences working for the legal needs of individuals and entities both large and small, have made him keenly aware of the challenges facing modern litigants and the motivations of those whom they may encounter. Mr. Ford’s primary practice areas include: commercial litigation, business, personal injury, and intellectual property.
Mr. Ford is a member of the American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.

Shawn Jih
Law Clerk

Shawn Jih is currently a law clerk at Marcum PC assisting in the practice areas of Litigation, Transactional and Real Estate.
He obtained his B.A. from the University of Texas and is currently a 3L at the University of Houston Law Center where he is an Articles Editor for the Houston Law Review. In addition, he has worked as a student attorney for the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic where he has helped small businesses with their transactional matters. He previously interned for Chief Justice Sherry Radack at the Fourtheenth Court of Appeals for the State of Texas.
Shawn is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).
